How do I do the in-person Training and what is the commitment?
If you are interested in taking part in a CCC in-person Training (the 2 day workshop or 6 month programme), please complete the CCC Training Enquiry form at the bottom of this page.
We recommend to take the self-study Introduction to Community Climate Coaching online course first.
The Commitment: you commit to 2 or 3 days of in-person training, several online sessions, and preparation time for these sessions - up to 48 hours in total. The course information will make clear if all the costs for the training are covered, or if there is a cost. Some courses may provide a number of free bursary places, with other places paid for. It all depends on the available funding!
Do I need previous experience? This is an Intermediate level (not a basic introduction to climate action). The training is open to anyone with passion and commitment to creating positive change in their community. We aim to have CPD (Continued Professional Development) certificates available for this training in 2025, to support you to take this training through your workplace training system. The training is well suited to people with experience of group facilitation and community engagement, and anyone with some experience of coaching. The training normally involves around 20 people, ideally with at least 10 community organisations represented, and is well suited to colleagues / teams of 2-4 people participating together.
Host A Community Climate Coaches Training
We want to partner with community organisations and local authorities to deliver Community Climate Coach trainings across the UK. We are in discussion with SCCAN about CCC trainings in Scotland, and with BITC (Business in the Community) about future trainings across the UK. We are keen to collaborate with all sectors, including for approaches that can engage harder-to-reach communities. So if you are interested in hosting a training in your area, please complete the CCC Training Enquiry form at the bottom of this page.
The Commitment: To host a CCC training, we ask you to organise the venue and catering, and work with us to secure funding for the training if you don't have this already. Normally we work together to attract 20 or more participants, mainly through your local contacts and networks. We have templates and information to help you market the training, and we provide the trainers, the timetable, online courses and support materials, as well as connection to other communities working with this approach.
