About me

Hello and welcome!
I’m Annette — a permaculture diploma tutor, certified educator, designer, project manager, and long-time homeschooler (20+ years) based in North Texas, USA.

I walk alongside apprentices on their diploma journey — as a guide, mentor, and steady presence — supporting the shift from learning permaculture to living it in a deep and embodied way. To me, the diploma is more than a portfolio of designs; it’s a transformative path where your skills, vision, and connection to the Earth grow together.

With experience in permaculture design, teaching, and cultural emergence, I help apprentices bring their visions to life through intentional design, reflective practice, and grounded support. My approach is compassionate and empowering, meeting you where you are and honoring your unique voice, pace, and story.

Through our work together, my aim is to nurture confidence, clarity, and connection — deepening your relationship with the Earth, your community, and yourself as you grow into your role as a designer and change-maker.

Diploma Tutor Experience

While I’m newly stepping into the role of diploma tutor, I bring a strong foundation of experience in permaculture design, project management, and education. I’ve served as a design team lead and installation project manager, guiding real-world projects from concept to completion. I’ve also worked extensively in course design and facilitation with collaborative teams and supported interns through hands-on learning.

With over 20 years of homeschooling experience, I’ve developed and delivered engaging, flexible learning tailored to individual needs — skills that directly translate to mentoring diploma apprentices.

Before my permaculture journey began, I worked as a costume designer and managed a creative team for children’s theatre, which gave me early experience in guiding creative processes and bringing big-picture visions to life.

I draw from all of this to offer supportive, well-rounded guidance — blending structure with creativity and meeting each apprentice where they are in their unique learning journey.

Diploma Tutor Skills

While I’m based in the United States, my approach is rooted in universal permaculture principles and the global permaculture movement. I bring an international perspective, and I’ve supported apprentices from different regions and climates through adaptable, place-based thinking. Our work together is shaped by your context — not mine — and I offer flexible meeting times, clear communication, and a culturally respectful approach. What matters most is not where we live, but the quality of connection, support, and insight you receive on your journey.
