Goodlives is the horticulture branch of the charity Skills4you based in Cumbria

All welcome to come and look around. No admission charge. We are on Westlakes Science Park, Whitehaven, Cumbria.  Accessible on bus route 30. Please phone to check, but generally on site Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 - 2pm. Volunteer and learning opportunities available.

We are still a relatively young horticulture project. We use lots of raised beds in polytunnels and outside to grow vegetables and fruit which are shared amongst our volunteers. We use comfrey, mulching, composting etc to maintain soil fertility. Although a large site of approximately 3 acres, all growing is on a domestic rather than commercial scale which helps our learners, volunteers and visitors to transpose practices to their own homes and allotments.

We host open days in the warmer months.

We are part of a larger charity named Skills4you and offer upcycling, woodworking, cookery, personal development and therapeutic support for individuals.
