The herb and flower bed was an opportunistic and iterative design addressing a specific opportunity within our household. It was a satisfying way to turn a problem (an unused and underappreciated space in the centre of our site) into a solution (a zone 1 opportunity to grow herbs, make the area prettier and learn about polyculture).
The Web of Principles emerged in parallel with the design itself as an iterative design process that can be applied to many situations.
