During the 2020 lockdown, I transformed our ornamental city garden into a thriving permaculture oasis. Our garden became both productive and beautiful, a peaceful urban haven where systemic design made everything flow naturally. My training journey has taken me from Terre et Conscience to PDC certification with David Holmgren himself, through La Ferme du Bec-Hellouin, Geoff Lawton, University of Oregon, and beyond. I began teaching with support from Kali de Keyser, one of Belgium's permaculture pioneers and am currently a regular at Cense Equi'Voc.I am also pursuing an Applied Permaculture Diploma with the young Belgian Association Permanant, of which I am a founding member and administrator. I now offer permaculture and climate resilience activities, providing keys for systemic thinking and solutions that restore our alliance with living systems. For the past years, I've been transforming a corner of the Namur Ardennes into a permaculture teaching space. My interests Culture and education Land and nature stewardship Educator experience Montessori Teacher with hands-on classroom experience with the distinctive Montessori pedagogical approach. This experience provided practical understanding of how children (and most people) learn through self-directed activity and collaborative play. FLE teaching for Ukrainian refugees adapted my teaching skills in a humanitarian context, requiring sensitivity to trauma-informed education and language acquisition under stress. This experience likely developed my ability to create safe learning environments for vulnerable populations. The role as Assistant for Permaculture Design Course at CRIE D'anlier (2022 and 2023) initiated my transition into specialized subject matter teaching, where I supported others in learning complex ecological design principles. My position as Regular speaker at Cense équi'voc (April 2023-present) indicates ongoing educational engagement specifically in permaculture. As Jury member for the Solarpunk Short Story Competition (2024) I approached a different form of educational experience - evaluating and providing feedback on creative works that explore sustainable futures, which required both subject matter expertise and assessment skills. Educator skills Regarding the pedagogical tools and methodologies that enhance my teaching effectiveness: My training in Multiple Intelligences adapted to secondary school environment equipped me with understanding of diverse learning styles and how to adapt instruction for different cognitive strengths. This connected with Mental Management training from ULB, which focused on understanding how individuals process and organize information. Brain Gym 101 added a kinesthetic dimension to my teaching toolkit, recognizing the connection between physical movement and cognitive function. This approach particularly benefits learners who struggle with traditional sedentary learning methods. My Collective Intelligence Facilitation training developed skills for guiding group learning processes, managing diverse perspectives, and creating collaborative knowledge-building experiences. My Visual Facilitation course complemented this by teaching me to make learning visible through graphic techniques that help groups track their thinking and discoveries. The Gestural Anecdote workshop with Parlement des Invisibles enhanced my storytelling and embodied communication skills, valuable for making abstract concepts tangible and memorable for learners. Educator qualifications My TEACH permaculture training from the Permaculture Institute for Education validates my ability to teach permaculture principles and practices to others, representing formal recognition of my pedagogical competence in this specialized field. My Permaculture Design Certificates from Terre et Conscience and Le Petit Monde de Desnié (2022) establish the technical foundation in permaculture design. While primarily technical rather than pedagogical, these certifications are essential qualifications that give me the subject matter authority needed to teach others effectively. The comprehensive Permaculture Design courses with renowned educators David Holmgren and Geoff Lawton further solidified my expertise. These internationally recognized programs provide the deep knowledge base that enables confident teaching and mentoring. Finally, my Landscape Designer certification from Centre de Qualification professionnelle (2024) adds professional credibility, demonstrating that my knowledge meets industry standards for practical application.
