Developing a forest garden within Edinburgh City centre that people can visit by public transport The garden is around 30x30m and since 2019 we have been improving the diversity of trees and shrubs, climbers, perrenial vegetables, and other crops within the garden. We also want to have a 'weed' bed of mainly native edible plants that can be found locally (forest gardens seem to rely on a lot of non-natives and how sustainable is that really?). The garden is currently managed by myself two days a week with the help of volunteers on one of those days. The Salisbury centre is an oasis of calm in the city and is a place for people to come where there are a range of spiritual and other workshops/talks/meetings. The gargen is open for volunteers on Friday afternoons and other centre users whenever they have events there. If you would like visits, how should people arrange their visit? email [email protected] Sustainable transport options Local buses, less than two miles from Waverley train station.
