Quinta Vale da Lama

Quinta Vale da Lama is an innovative land-based project in South Portugal, developed since 2008 using Permaculture Design tools. The project consists of a partnership between an educational NGO and an Agro-tourism company, showcasing new approaches to education, farming, and tourism within the vision of a solidary economy.

Agriculture as practiced at Q.VdL is fundamentally oriented to regenerating the health of our bodies, lands, and economy. Education is focused on cultivating relationship through practical, hands-on experiences with the content, and based on experiencing the joys of a caretaking role for people as stewards of nature. Tourism is an opportunity to recharge personal energies and contribute - we reinvest surplus from tourism to regenerate ecosystems on the farm.

We believe in a world beyond sustainabilty - where the process of meeting human needs can simultaneously regenerate and improve ecological and social systems.
