This course, which runs multiple times throughout the year, covers the standard 72-hour PDC syllabus. It emphasizes permaculture systems, hands-on learning, and developing a permaculture design for a personal project. This course is perfect for individuals looking to integrate permaculture into their lives, especially those who already own land, intend to start a permaculture project, or grow food. Participants will experience off-grid living in a communal environment, deepening their connection with nature. They will also enjoy wholesome organic meals and participate in callisthenics or yoga sessions. The functioning 52-acre permaculture farm includes food forests, agroforestry, and various sustainable natural structures built with straw bale, cordwood, and cob. Students will observe practical demonstrations of permaculture systems, including the integration of sheep, pigs, and chickens. Throughout the course, each student will select a personal project, creating a direct connection between the curriculum and their specific interests. This project can vary from designing for their own land to transforming a parent's garden or balcony, or even setting up a worm system—anything relevant to their future goals. The PDC can be taken as a standalone two-week course, or students can choose to stay for a month to also participate in the following Natural Building and Permaculture in Practice courses. Upon successfully finishing the course, participants will receive a certified Permaculture Design Course certificate, which reflects their newly acquired knowledge and skills in permaculture principles and design. With this certificate, you will then be able to: Apply for an internship position at Keela or other Permaculture centres Enrol in the Certificate for Applied Permaculture Program Join the Permaculture Diploma Program Certified teachers Laurence Manchee Xana Rodrigues Xana Rodrigues - Co-teacher Henri Hoffren - Co-teacher Eric Conrath - Soap Making Kimbo - Fermenting Jonathan Ives - Forestry Raquel Perdigão - Foraging + our teaching apprentices Apprentice teachers This course is open to offers from apprentice teachers wishing to gain teaching experience Course can be started at any time (online) Off Course type Permaculture Design Course Engagement style Face to face Postal address of venue 1, Vale Leitao, mata da rainha 6230-810 Fundao Portugal Course contact email [email protected] Contact name Keela Contact telephone number +351960188968 Share this course Copied to clipboard
