Medicinal plant names services Medicinal Plant Names Services (MPNS) maps the names used globally for medicinal plants, such as pharmaceutical, trade and common names, onto the most up to date taxonomy, and holds this information in the MPNS resource. This Beta Version 1.0 of the MPNS portal enables you to access the names held in the MPNS resource via a simple search box. Searches can be performed on scientificand non-scientific plant names, e.g. chamomile (common name) Chamaemelum nobile (accepted scientific name) Anthemis nobilis (widely used scientific synonym) Chamaemelum (genus only) Chamomillae (part of pharmaceutical name).
