Small permaculture garden and allotment

Margaret's Plot is in the Village of Carlton in North Bedfordshire.  It consists of a small garden and nearby large allotment. The different areas complement each other and are intended to give Margaret, and some local customers, fruit and vegetables all year round.

Margaret likes experimenting with new types of fruits and vegetables and is specially interested in the potential of sheet mulching - the allotment site is in a dry part of England and we have no piped water. So water conservation, especially mulching, is important. I use recycled, free materials for this which is both sustainble and fits with the permaculture principles of 'produce no waste', 'use and value renewable resources and services' and 'small and slow solutions'.
