Forest Farm Peace Garden is a unique mental health and environment project. Our garden in Hainault, London, is an oasis of beauty and tranquility offering an inspiring and welcoming space for people to connect with nature and meet other people. We run an ecotherapy programme, involving activities in nature, to support people with mental health recovery. We also run workshops, events and volunteering for the wider community. Activities in our garden include gardening and food growing, caring for our large fruit orchard, growing medicinal plants, caring for wildlife, woodwork and arts and crafts.
We run outdoor nature-based activities at our large garden and wildlife site. We grow organic vegetables, fruits and medicinal plants, keep bees and improve wildlife habitats. We run educational and health-focused workshops, such as organic gardening, mindfulness in nature, making herbal remedies and home-produce, healthy eating and cooking, and art and creativity.
We are dedicated to improving health and wellbeing, building a thriving community and promoting environmental sustainability.
Since its foundation in 2004 FFPG has evolved and grown into a specialist provider of ecotherapy for people with defined needs. We support a broad range of people, including those experiencing mental health support needs, adults with learning disability and refugee and asylum seekers.
Our ethos stems from the permaculture values of care for people, care for the earth and sharing of resources. We aim to create volunteering opportunities that foster personal development, a sense of belonging and an understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
We are open on Mondays for community volunteering and on Wednesday and Friday for ecotherapy. Please get in touch to fill in an application form if you are interested in joining: [email protected]
