A permaculture smallholding growing vegetables for the local area

Edibles is a 7acre permaculture smallholding in the Colne Valley, South Pennines. Rosie and Steve took on the site in 2003, renovated the barn into their house, and started to grow fruit and veg. We now have forest gardens, wildflower meadows, 3 polytunnels, small greenhouses, allotment scale and field scale veg patches, cob oven and the wonderful converted Cowshed to host meetings, events and gigs.

We are selling veg and fruit to several outlets, including our local community-owned shop, which is providing more significant income for us and supporting our local food economy.

We have monthly volunteer days and enjoy longer-stay volunteers too.
