Tyddyn Teg is a workers’ co-operative, operating an agroecological community farm on our 31 acre property in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales. We run a well-established year-round weekly veg-bag scheme serving 180 local families as well as a farm shop and a wholesale business serving local shops and caterers. Our growing team is divided into four somewhat independent teams who coordinate their operations closely to meet the requirements of our market. The teams manage the following systems:-
A propagation nursery producing transplants for all areas of the farm.
We are currently looking for 2 or 3 people to join our growing team, to work mainly on the field crops team and garden crops team, but with the potential to be involved in other areas of the business as well (see below). We also have an on site bakery producing delicious organic sourdough bread and a new campsite offering ‘glamping’ options in furnished bell-tents. In addition to growers, we are looking for someone to help manage our new campsite.
We are committed to non-hierarchical governance and to producing great food for our community whilst caring for our land to the best of our ability. We are a live-work co-op with most of our members living on site. Successful candidates will have the option to move onto the site. Our co-op currently consists of 13 people with 7 on the Growing Team and 2 on the Glamping Team.
We are seeking new members to support us as we expand and strengthen our operation. Applicants for either role must be willing to work at least 4 days a week in the summer.
If you’ve not visited us before, we recommend that you come and see what we do, and have a chat with us about the roles and the co-op as a whole before applying.
