Started in January 2018 in the UK, drawing on the founders’ shared passion for sustainable agriculture and personal experiences of homelessness. It's vision is to create a blueprint for sustainable permaculture care hubs across the UK that are a showcase for rural arts and crafts while providing a sustainable local source of food.

More widely, the project seeks to explore, develop and create a practical environment that can be used to determine a better today and brighter tomorrow. By involving people who have very real needs today, it also encapsulates a genuine chance to change lives and build a community.

Sol Haven has regenerated disused farm buildings and gardens to create a social gathering space that hosts various groups and events that contribute to strengthening the local community.

Winner of this year's Lush Spring Prize, Sol Haven. Their project ‘Ploughing the Mind’ is a 12-week course that has been carefully designed to help people struggling with their mental health to reconnect with the community, and themselves and make new friends.

Their 10-month global Permaculture Educators Program combines a world-class PDC and a comprehensive Permaculture Teacher Certificate. They host the permaculture HIVE - a global learning community - a place to keep learning, sharing, and growing about becoming an amazing permaculture teacher.

Permaculture Education Institute embraces fair share and opens digital courses freely to those in the global south - particularly women, youth and refugees. They also invite members of indigenous communities to access and contribute freely to the courses.

Permaculture teaching is [pr]activism - practical positive activism for one planet living. Permaculture educators myceliate a new story of what's possible.

Morag Gamble is an award-winning permaculture teacher and practitioner who co-founded the Permayouth and mentors youth worldwide. Morag leads a permaculture charity, the Ethos Foundation, that sends 100% of donations shared to permaculture programs led by and for refugee communities, women and youth in East Africa. Last year she shared almost 50,000 UK pounds quickly and directly.

Morag walks her talk - she's lived for a quarter of a century in an award-winning ecovillage and has taught at leading ecological learning centres such as Schumacher College. 

In her Sense-Making in a Changing World Podcast, Morag is joined in conversation by leading ecological thinkers, activists, authors, designers and practitioners to explore 'What Now?' - what is the kind of thinking we need to navigate a positive and regenerative way forward, what does a thriving one-planet way of life look like, where should we put our energy. In this changing world and in challenging times, we offer these voices of clarity and common sense.

Morag creates the Our Permaculture Life BLOG and YouTube channel about simple living and permaculture growing. These have collectively been viewed over 10 million times.  

The Apricot Centre aims to create and run a sustainable diverse farm, wellbeing service and training business. It produces high-quality organic and biodynamic food for sale to local markets. It trains people in regenerative agriculture through funded learner programs and public courses. It recognises that there is a fundamental link between the well-being of the soil, food and habitat, and the mental and physical health of the people in and around the farm, making for a wonderful environment for a warm and effective well-being service for children and families. The Apricot Centre is a CIC business for purpose founded in 2006 and aims to be financially self-sufficient.
