Wildlife Recording

Do you record species as part of your work? Have you got butterflies in your garden? Seen a dragonfly or a badger whilst on a walk? Are you wondering who to tell? This friendly, one day course will cover the basics of how to make a wildlife record, and why we should bother. You may be a complete beginner and want to make your sightings count, or you may have a notebook stuffed full of sightings and want to improve the quality of your records.

This course will cover what makes a great wildlife record, ways to improve the usefulness of your professional or amateur records, and plenty of examples of how your records make a real difference to protecting our wildlife. If you would like to use your knowledge for the benefit of conservation, then come along to this practical session, which will cover traditional and digital ways to take part. We’ll be making and sending in real wildlife records from the Denmark Farm site, meeting some County Recorders and hearing about all the help and support there is available. There will also be hints on how to get a First for the county!
