Solar irrigation for allotments and community gardens

Summary information

Learn the principles of designing, building and installing small off grid solar energy systems to power water pumps for irrigating crops, and more.

This half day workshop will explore how to correctly size your energy system to match your irrigation needs, and how to get the most out of it.

If you are interested in learning about off grid energy systems, this workshop will allow you to get hands-on access to basic low-cost components.

As with all Demand Energy Equality's DIY workshops, you will learn what energy is and what it can do, and gain an understanding of the electrical basics: current, voltage, resistance, power, and series and parallel circuits.

The workshop will take place at the DEE studio in Ladywell, and will start at 11am, and finish around 4pm.

- All materials are included.
- No previous experience required.
