Course summary

Expertly taught, internationally recognised, design course in a low-cost town-centre setting, one Saturday day per month for 12 months. Suitable for busy people. There are no pre-conditions, anyone interested can attend.

This course is for anyone interested in gaining the skills and practical approaches towards an enjoyable life at home, and also a transition towards a more sane and healthy society. Our approach is based around creative thinking and learning from natural systems. If you study with us, you will build your knowledge and gain a thorough grounding in the skill of Permaculture Design. We will look at topics that could improve your quality of life and well-being in your neighbourhood. An internationally recognised certificate from the Permaculture Research Institute is awarded to those who complete the course.

During the course, you will get lots of support from experienced tutors. There should be no risk that you will miss any of it - the days are available as "modules" across the Northern School programme and you will have access to additional on-line learning materials.

The course will be held held in Chorley, Lancashire at a comfortable town-centre location, but close to Astley Park. Easy travelling by rail from Preston, Wigan, Salford, Manchester and beyond. Less than five minutes by car from the M61.

Some bursaries are available. for those on low income.
