James Chapman (lead teacher)is a specialist in large, complex site design. In the first weekend we will be looking at a variety of James’ design work including community gardens, farms and woodlands along with design techniques like model making and CAD. We will also be looking at ways to add to the long term success of the three hares project. We will be breaking a large site into smaller zones and projects. In the second weekend you will be creating a design for one of the zones highlighted in weekend one. The areas we need to look at include a building, garden, forest garden, willow coppice, wood fuel coppice, compost toilet, access and the new C.I.C. business. **The site is only accessible by foot and so therefore requires good mobility, due to restrictions. Minimum requirement for this course is completion of an Introduction course and/or previous practical experience. Completion of a design for the project can count as part of your Diploma portfolio.
