Course summary

With community herbalist Rasheeqa Ahmad. A midsummer plant gathering day, the second of three herbal courses at Braziers this year. We begin with a lovely guided herb walk around the grounds of Braziers Park. Bright blooms of Calendula & Rose, juicy leaves like Plantain, the evocative aromatics of the mint family (Lemon Balm, Lavender and many more), trees in their full green – an exciting journey! We will pause to connect and spend time with a number of chosen herbs and you will learn key information about their growing seasons, ways to identify, gather and prepare them into medicines and a host of tidbits relating to history and folklore, traditional and current uses and contemporary research into the plants that supports millennia of human use. In the afternoon we will return to the house with foraged plant material for a communal tasting session, connecting experientially with a few of the plants we have met through guided sensory herbal tea tastings.
. £40 per person. £100 for all three day events (together with 16 April and 10 September) if booked together.
