Course summary

A weekend in the beautiful, restorative grounds of Braziers Park, Oxfordshire (between Reading and Oxford).

Following the Permaculture Association curriculum we will explore the ethics and principles of permaculture - you willl learn how to get started creating designs and systems for sustainable living and growing- in harmony with nature 'The revolution disguised as gardening'. Our classroom will be a comfortable converted cowshed surrounded by meadows and orchards.

As well as mastering the theory there will be plenty of outdoor time, foraging, bonfire and talks & tours from community members on bee-keeping, wood chip heating system, community living, water harvesting, composting and more. There will also be a film showing established projects, large and small for extra inspiration.

There will be opportunity to network and learn from many onsite examples. Optional get together on Saturday night. Camping available onsite at £11 per person per night, B&B can be booked in nearby villages. We will take our Saturday evening meal at the nearby King William pub. Home-made organic lunches and refreshment breaks are included in the course fee. Some concessions available.

There are good transport links and its possible to be relaxing in the beautiful countryside 1 hour after leaving Paddington station. Car share scheme.
