Course summary

This is a 1 day course that aims to inspire, empower and equip you with the basic tools and techniques to start using permaculture design in your everyday life. This ‘taster’ will provide an opportunity to actively learn about the principles and see examples of designs being implemented around the Furnace Brook site.

No prior knowledge of Permaculture is needed, merely an enthusiasm and interest in creating a more sustainable future for you and the world.

This introductory course covers:
● Ethics and Principles
● Design
● Working Examples of Permaculture
● Observation exercises
● Practical exercises
● An overview of the permaculture network and how to find out more.

Tutors – The course is led by Edward Dale-Harris, ARB Architect, regenerative designer and Permaculture teacher.

Tea, coffee & water provided.
We are hoping to bring the group together for a shared pot-luck lunch and kindly request that everyone bring a dish to share (preferably vegetarian/vegan). Crockery and cutlery will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer
For many this course will be enough to start utilising permaculture but for those wishing to continue their studies this course will cover the material from day one of the Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) syllabus. If you wish to study for your Permaculture Design Certificate at Furnace Brook we kindly ask that you first complete the Introduction to Permaculture course.
Please note, this course is only partially funded, (and will require a minimum of 7 participants to run) if we do not receive a minimum of 7 bookings we will unfortunately and regretfully have to cancel the course. So please tell your friends and family and anyone you know who would be interested.
