Many Nature loving activities happening the second week of August around Whitstable. We can theoretically solve all the human world's problems in this way of gardening! We will learn about the concept of Forest gardening, forage, and learn the basics of designing this ecological system through Permaculture Design. We will see the seven plus layers of plants and their purpose. Learn about perennial plants, tips for attracting wildlife in the garden and how to eat almost everything! Here is a way we can grow food without chemicals that brings back wild nature in the creatures, the plants and rewilds us. Jo has been involved with this movement for so long that she is at the growing the edge of it and will introduce the Future Food Forest CIC’s work of the 3 P’s of People, Produce and Place. Jo is a Forest garden Permaculture Designer and 4 of her garden were awarded Wild about Garden Gold awards from Kent Wildlife Trust. Helen is making bindweed baskets and brings families into the forest gardens. This will be a talk, a walk and a bit interactive. Suitable for older children and everyone. No knowledge needed. And great if you are expert we want to meet you. Jo Barker from Future Food Forests CIC (and maybe Helen too if we are lucky) will share this wonderful ancient (and contemporary) food growing technique. Book your ticket here.
