This course is an invitation to experience the living world we are part of, as an infinite web of relationships. “We’ve moved from being a part of nature to being apart from nature.” David Attenborough, A Life on Our Planet You will have the opportunity to become grounded in nature through your senses. By being more present to the living world around you, it is possible to enhance your connection to nature and experience yourself as a part of the greater whole. To help to recognize our place in the web of life we will introduce the concept of the Ecological Self, which has its roots in deep ecology. You will have time to reflect and experience this model within the natural world. Our aim is to enrich your experiences in the natural world and reflect on your place within it. This course is likely to interest you if you are seeking to connect or deepen your connection with the natural world and counter the aspects of modern life that treat people as separate from nature. It is intended to be a balance of learning, playing, sharing, reflecting, and having time out on the land at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre. The course is inclusive, to be enjoyed whether you are, old, or young, mobile or not so mobile, new to, or experienced in being out in nature.
