Course summary

Fermentation is an ancient food preservation technique, used in every cuisine, which has given rise to some of the most complex and celebrated flavours found in foods and beverages such as soy sauce, wine, cheese, sauerkraut and countless others.

In this fermentation workshop, you’ll learn all about this safe, easy and delicious way to preserve your produce and make healthy beverages.

We will cover technique, equipment, safety and health benefits and give practical demonstrations showing how to make sauerkraut and kombucha (fermented sweet tea).

We will also go over the variety of food items that can be produced through fermentation such as ketchup, chutneys, sriracha (garlic chilli sauce), sourdough bread and yogurt.

£45 per person, or £40 if booked with Growing Your Own Fruit. Please bring a couple of small jars if you would like to take some of the fermented products home with you.
