We are very excited to announce that the 2014 UK Permaculture Convergence will be held at Gilwell Park in North East London from 12th - 14th September.

When? Friday 12, 2pm - Sunday 14 September 3pm
Arrivals from 2pm, workshop programme starts at 3:30pm

Where?  Gilwell Park Scout Activity Centre, London E4 7QW.
We've got a great venue for 2014! In Epping Forest, the nearest train station is Chingford.

What?  A diverse range of workshops, practical sessions, a visit to a very well established local permaculture LAND centre, project case studies, Diploma presentations, networking, exhibitions, woodland walks, games, adventure activities and lots, lots more!

Who?  You!  One of the strengths of the convergence is the diversity of the programme offered by you, the network. See the full, updated workshop programme here.

Adventure Activities
Gilwell Park has an exciting range of adventure activities for kids of all ages, including climbing, swimming, zip wire, aerial ropeway, raft building, kayaking and more. If you're interested in booking some activities for your children (or yourself!), please tick here and we'll contact you with a survey to put a programme together.

Pastoral Facilities
Gilwell park also has a range of faith-based spaces for worship and quiet contemplation, including chapels, a synagogue and Buddhist Sala, not to mention the extensive woodland around the site. A mosque is currently under construction.

Getting there
Gilwell Park is in the beautiful Epping Forest and close to Chingford station with frequent trains from central London.

You can walk to Gilwell Park from Chingford station in half an hour or there are private taxis available from outside the station. We hope to run a shuttle minibus on the Friday afternoon.

The convergence is not far from from the River Lea cycle path, although we are on top of hill so taking your bike on the train would be a good bet. But bikes aren't allowed on the peak time trains from 4:30pm 6:30pm on Friday. Please note cycle helmets should be worn whilst on the venue site.

Trains run to and from Chingford railway station 4 times an hour on weekdays and weekends. It is in Zone 5. To get an idea of journey time and costs follow this link and amend the 'From' station to be your local station.

And by car our forest location is 10 minutes drive from Junction 26 of the M25. See this helpful direction map (pdf). If you are driving and have a spare space please advertise it on GoCarShare or Freewheelers.
