Permaculture Association Spring 2019 update

Membership Further work carried out to improve the new members area, acting on feedback from members' survey. We have reached 70% of our membership financial target, with one quarter of our financial year left to go. Membership retention was 52% for this quarter, the aim was for 55%. Members benefit from a 15% discount on tickets to the national permaculture convergence - we think this will help increase membership numbers. We also usually get a slight spike in income for quarter 2.

Of course, we know that permaculture events are brilliant, with great workshop programmes, conversations and food, but maybe we underestimate the scale of the positive impact they have!

Another Way of Learning

After thirty years of engagement with Permaculture it never ceases to amaze me how the Permaculture Design Course (PDC) changes peoples’ lives.

This brilliant understanding of how to meet peoples’ needs, without working so hard, and at the same time learning to minimise waste was crafted by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren before I came along to connect with it. I’m also hugely aware that it has always been a fantastic effort of trawling wisdom from all across the planet contributed by unknown numbers of people.
