The Research Advisory Board supports the research work undertaken by the Association. It currently (January 2014) consists of 18 academics and permaculture practitioners. At its annual meeting in December, the Board sets the work plan for the Association's research team in the year ahead. It also oversees the production and implementation of the Association's four year research strategy.  Working groups from the board hold virtual meetings throughout the year to look at particular research areas, such as forest gardens. When requested, individual board members also supply invaluable advice and feedback, drawing on their own expertise and experience, to the Research Coordinator.

The Board are always looking for new members with some experience of both research and permaculture, including academics, amateur researchers, those working in research institutions and diploma apprentices/graduates. The Board can be contacted through [email protected]
