About me

I have a background as an academic, an educator and a community activist. My focus for the past decade has been on community-level action for sustainability – whether through establishing initiatives such as Transition Leicester, setting up or supervising research projects on these themes or teaching on Permaculture courses and Masters courses at De Montfort University.

I first came across Permaculture in the early 2000s, doing a weekend intro course with Andy Goldring and Suzi High in Leeds, and then did my PDC in Leicester with Hannah Thorogood in 2011. I completed my diploma in May 2015 and my current focus is to offer support to apprentices on the Diploma pathway in the East Midlands.
