HereBeDragons - Main Profile

I have been gardening in one form or another, off and on, since I was able to toddle around behind Alfie, our gardener at my Dad’s pub in rural England. I attended Agricultural College. Studied Garden Design. Ran my own Landscape Gardening Business. For nearly 30 years I have been living in North Wales. Originally around Machynlleth and Tywyn and latterly Trawsfynydd slap bang in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. For many years I worked as an Outdoor Instructor. Whilst my four children were growing up my main rôle was as a house husband. My wife and I then started a service business looking after holiday cottages for their owners. Back in late 2018, at the age of 58 I had a stroke. I am still in recovery. One day I may even be able to play my guitar again. These days I am retired, or should that just be “tired”? I am quite happy pottering around in my gardens.
I first came across permaculture at the Centre for Alternative Technology and Graham Bell’s “The Permaculture Way” back in the 1990’s. Since 2016 I have been slowly, very slowly trying to adhere to the principles therein, with varying degrees of success. I would like to gain the PDC and go on to study for the Diploma
