Join us at the Permaculture Association's first South West Regional Permaculture Convergence, taking place over the weekend of 9-11 June 2017 at Goffin Land on the edge of Exeter.

The event is organised by the Association in partnership with its members and other local activists.

Our intention is to create new opportunities and benefits by connecting up aligned projects, local groups and individuals across the area. We also aim to help build a self-sustaining, resilient South West regional permaculture network.

What will it be like?

The event will run over 48 hours. There will be a range of workshops, skill shares, strategy sessions, and practical demonstrations to enjoy through each day, covering everything from permaculture for beginnners to advanced sessions for those with more experience. We'll even be hosting a Permablitz to create a new herb garden for Goffin Land. 

We welcome contributions and participation from those involved in the social change, new economic, environmental & conservation and community activist movements.

Bring the kids!

If you're thinking you'd love to come if it wasn't for the kids, why not bring them along? The convergence team is excited to announce the under-18s programme for the event has now been fully developed to include: 

  • scarecrow making
  • nest building
  • seeds bombs
  • arts & crafts
  • circus skills
  • musical instruments
  • tiny tots corner....and much more.

Book a kid's place at the convergence for just £25 (including six meals). They won't be disappointed!

 

Expect a fun festival atmosphere; plentiful learning and networking opportunities; great quality local, organic food and evening music. There will be childrens' activities and lots to get involved in from start to finish. Camping will be available on site for those staying for the weekend and we're also exploring other accommodation options nearby. There will be compost toilets and wood-fired showers.

The event is designed for permaculture practitioners, community activists, green-fingered gardeners, social change pioneers and anybody else across the region interested in learning more about engaging with permaculture.

We welcome offers of participation in the Convergence. Participants are generally asked to purchase a ticket for the event, though there are exceptions for whom this is not possible.

Our venue

Goffin Land is a 96-acre community-led farm project on the edge of Exeter looking to utilise permaculture principles in its design and activity. It is a tranquil haven hidden away but within easy reach of urban facilities and transport routes. 

Goffin Land seeks to be an oasis for social and ecological change, providing access to land for those in need and nurturing mind, body and soul.
