Margaret's Plot

‘Margaret’s Plot’ is in the village of Carlton in North Bedfordshire. It actually consists of four separate plots based on four different Permaculture Designs. The four plots (the front and back gardens of a bungalow plus an allotment and forest garden) need to complement each other and form an overall Grand Design intended to give me as sustainable a lifestyle as possible and to provide fruit and vegetables for myself ( and some customers) all year round. I also like to experiment with different and unusual types of fruits and vegetables and try new techniques!

Seize Garden Westward Ho! Devon

The project was set up by Seize the Moment working with young people aged 13-18 following a Police Crimebeat award in 2010.

Seize garden is in a public park which has 4 tennis courts, a crazy golf area and children's rides and is open 24/7. There is a public right of way which leads to the local village centre.

The Happy cafe is a registered food business converted by the young people for use as a work experience venue training young chefs to use locally sourced food and to cook healthy meals on a budget.
The group have expanded the project to include a community Permaculture garden funded by North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The garden consists of a forest garden, raised beds, a rain water harvest system, a sensory garden and a willow dome.
Our food waste and green waste is converted on site.
To the rear of the building we have a garden room and a bicycle workshop.
