South West Regional Convergence Steering Group members wanted
The Permaculture Association is planning to host a South West Regional Convergence in Devon from 9-11 June 2017 at Goffin Land, Exeter.
The overall aim of the event is to seed a South West Regional Permaculture Network which covers the whole area from Gloucestershire to Cornwall and which in turn seeds more local groups alongside the existing ones such as Bristol.
The Association will put the initial funding into this event and manage all finances. Our Event Coordinator will produce the Convergence with support from our staff and a Regional Event Coordinator in a semi-voluntary role.
What we're looking for
Update: Members now sought from Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Cornwall.
In order to help curate this event, we wish to form a South West Steering Group for the Convergence which could in time lead to creation of a self-sustaining regional network staging annual Convergences, offering community support and helping promote permaculture across the area.
The Steering Group will share responsibility for programming the Convergence as well as promoting it far and wide. You will co-develop a strategy that ensures we make the most of the event and have a plan to move the regional network forward by the end of it.
We're now looking for up to 7 people to form this Group beginning in February 2017. At least 3 of the Group should be Permaculture Association members. At least 1 should be from an organisation not practising permaculture to ensure committee and event has broad representation and appeal.
Would you be interested in helping create this event and make it a success? Are you interested in forging a regional permaculture network? Do you have great connections and a head full of ideas to contribute?? Members of the Steering Group should be willing to put in time to help make the event a success, be prepared to attend the odd meeting online and onsite and promote to their own friends, local permaculture groups and communities.
Then get in touch with us via Dan Hurring at [email protected] and let's make this thing happen.
