Opportunities within the UK

Applying for planning permission on agricultural land for a residential house

This is an opportunity to express an interest in the proposed course (full details in download).

Summary:
People from all walks of life dream of that cottage in the countryside, becoming self-sufficient for food, energy and wellbeing. We all know land prices have gone through the roof, in part due to supply and demand, with asking prices rendering most DIY projects non-viable and remaining just a dream. But there just might be another way to activate your dreams at an affordable price!!

We're looking for someone to help our project progress. Our project needs a vital boost to keep it running. Marketing is key for that to happen. We're looking for someone with excellent web design skills who is willing to give a few hours of thier time to help us build a website with a difference.

We'd like it to be funky, innovative, informative and most of all fun! It needs to attract a large demographic so it must be able to capture people's eye.

Volunteer with Project Patchwork, Cornwall

PROJECT PATCHWORK is run on a small piece of land. It is a selection of all that is good about horticulture, agriculture and people in Cornwall.

We run a support group for people with PTSD on the first Sunday of each month - we know you want to be left alone, but the people who love and care for you may need to know they are not alone (and it helps to talk to people who have the same troubles as you).

On the fourth Sunday of each month we run a re-enactment group – come along for sword fighting and historic crafts.

Opportunity to let a 2 bedroom cottage with between 3 and 9 acres of land on the Hardwick Estate - deadline for proposals 18th August 2017

The Hardwick Estate has been farmed organically since the late 70's and there are already several rural businesses here including Tolhurst Organics market garden, a pasture fed cattle and arable farm, a hemp producers co-operative and another small veg co-op as well as several smallholdings.

We are looking for someone with a passion for small holding or an interest in running a micro-dairy but are open to most land based initiatives.

Help regenerate and enjoy this beautiful piece of land - Horsham, Sussex

I have a small piece of land (0.06acre) in a stunningly beautiful area of Horsham, Sussex (10 mins from the incredible Rewilding project) that I would like to offer people to take care of. It is very secluded and set amongst other allotments and small holdings which are well taken care of.

The land is very overgrown and needs a lot of work before it can be used for permaculture or grazing, but if anyone is up for the challenge then it would make a great private spot for you to enjoy.

Volunteer at Organic Permaculture Project in Cheshire, UK

Mere Brow Farm is a fledgling 13.5 acre farm currently working towards full Organic status in the heart of Cheshire and is being developed using permaculture principles. Our aim is to create an ecological system that is fun, educational, productive, diverse and sustainable with a combination of mixed woodland, orchard, hedging and edible forest.

This isn't a project we can do on our own however, so we are looking for like-minded volunteers to help us deliver our vision.
