It's been a long time coming, but the comments that we received in response to all 3 rounds of our education policy consultation have finally been collated and published. Ute Kelly of the Education Working Group has done a great job of summarising the key points made in the debate.

It has been a lively discussion, and one that has revealed a spectrum of views. In particular, it has revealed stronger resistance to the proposals than was expected. We are committed to taking all the views seriously, and will not simply push through the original policy. Reconciling some diametrically opposed views will of course be challenging, but we do not feel that we can ignore the views of significant sections of our membership.

The Education Working Group will hold a teleconference in early February and consider what to do next.
