Dates and times 11 Sep 24 Booking link https://buytickets.at/festivalpermaculture/1254605 Event summary This event is free for Permaculture Association Britain members and £6 for non-members. For this exciting campfire event we will be joined by Carolyn, Chris and Maggie who are doing amazing work on seed sovereignty in Wales. At the busiest time of the seed growing season, we will have an opportunity to discover how they are practically making a difference at a local level. Carolyn Moody and Dr. Chris Vernon are from The Wales Seed Hub, who work with local growers to produce seed grown on Welsh farms using agroecological practices. Their seed is open pollinated and carefully selected, and they try to grow varieties that are not widely available elsewhere and grow well in the Welsh climate. They are a co-operative, working together to market, pack and distribute seed. Their overall aim is to increase seed diversity in Wales. The Incredible Seed Library, founded and run by Maggie Carr, is a non-profit organisation based in Llanelli, Wales providing 10 free packets of seeds to members every year. They grow, package, coordinate members’ seed saving and send out open pollinated seeds. It is a free program committed to protecting seed sovereignty and increasing our collective ability to feed ourselves wholesome food by offering seeds and education about seed saving. There will also be an opportunity to ask your questions at this campfire event. So, come along to hear about their projects, and be inspired to take your own action on local seed sovereignty, whether you are a seasoned grower or new to all things seedy!
