Abundant Earth Open Day

Summary information

Abundant Earth are once again hosting an Open Day to welcome folk to see our veg garden and experience our craft activities along with some special guests.

The Open Day will be held on Saturday May 21st from 12noon until 5pm.

As always we will be providing herb teas harvested from our garden along with organic teas and coffees. There will also be seasonal cakes including some vegan and gluten free options, and also soup and bread rolls. So bring some coins to buy some scran.

Jo will be making willow craft items including Dragonflies which will be for sale. Beth will be making peg loom rugs and will provide tours of our salad crops both inside and outside. Matt will be demonstrating hurdle making using wood grown and harvested on site. Wilf will be providing a talk on how we apply permaculture to our veg garden.

Our special guest this time round will be Neil Clowes, founder of Friends of Bearpark Woods. Neil will be displaying photos and hand tools and answering questions about the Bearpark Woods project. You can see more about it at...https://bearparkwoods.wordpress.com/

We all look forward to seeing you then.

Our smallholding is called Cooke's West Wood Farm and can be found at Broompark, 2 miles west and south a bit of Durham City. It is south of Broompark, west of Broompark Picnic Area and north of the Deerness River. You'll need to email us for further detailed directions.
