Abundant Earth Open Day for International Permaculture Day 2015

Summary information

As part of International Permaculture Day we will be having an Open Day here at Abundant Earth, near Durham City on Saturday May 2nd from 11am until 4pm. We'll be providing tours of our one acre vegetable garden where we grow veg, fruit n salad for our veg box scheme. You'll be able to see how we use permaculture principles in our planting and soil fertility. We will be having a focus on soil this year - so expect plenty about comfrey, nettles, compost, soil types, compost toilet etc.

We will also have a wood craft demonstration from Matt Whittaker and a Biochar making demonstration from Mark Shipperlee.

There will be herb teas from our garden. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket if you wish and hope for sunny weather.

It is essential to email us for directions. Please do not go to our postal address in Brancepeth. Our farm is near Broompark, two miles from Durham City.
