TINWOLF Eco-Cafe: A car free Leeds - addressing the environmental and social impacts of mobility

Summary information

A Car-Free Leeds?
With Anzir Boodoo, Carfree UK

In the 20th century, the car brought unprecedented personal freedom to travel anywhere, at any time - at the cost of pedestrian safety and the quality of urban life

In the face of depleting oil reserves and the need to cut CO2 emissions, not to mention the continued choking of cities with cars and their fumes, are the car’s days numbered?

Join TINWOLF for a thought-provoking workshop exploring a number of projects from around Europe which have sought to overcome the limitations of the car-based city, and discussing the future of cars in Leeds

The workshop will also introduce a proposal to start a German-style Car Free Association to campaign for better conditions and public transport and cycle facilities for non-car users.

All welcome.
Refreshments provided, small donations encouraged to help with cost of refreshments and room hire.
