The Centre for Alternative Technology and This is Rubbish are working together to deliver Forum and Feast: an inter disciplinary food waste event that will feed both body and brain.
In the UK over 20 million tonnes of good food is wasted each year whilst 4 million of its citizens are unable to access or afford a nutritional diet. Tackling the problem at every stage of the food supply chain can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save consumers money and stop good food going to waste.
Forum and Feast will explore the issues behind food waste in the UK, find out about European and global food supply chains, digest the latest facts and figures, and investigate solutions that will help create a zero carbon Britain.
The forum, an engaging program of panel discussions, workshops, complimentary lunch, film screenings and exhibition, will be followed by an exceptional evening Feast: a three course sumptuous supper made from food that otherwise would’ve been wasted, served at a candle lit table, accompanied by live music and original entertainment.
We hope you can join This is Rubbish for their finale Feast event, and digest the details about what can be done to prevent good food from going to waste.
The conference is open to all and is aimed at individuals and organisations with an interest in sustainability and food supply chain. The event will provide an invaluable opportunity for mutual learning and networking.
This event will be of interest to: food producers, food retailers, energy providers, waste managers and regulators, supply chain managers, students, researchers, journalists, policy makers, environmental artists and activists.
