I'm excited to say that we have the first meeting of a discussion group thinking about 'Globalisation and Permaculture: small and slow solutions in a fast changing world' coming up later this month!
The group was originally conceived as a space to explore the possibilities that permaculture ethics and principles could have within a globalised system of production and ecological exploitation, however the concept for the group has snowballed to include thinking more about how we can instigate change here in Leeds and extend out outreach (particularly with the university and students).
At this stage the vision for the group is very fluid - make sure to come along the first few meetings and have your chance to input on the group's focus. But if you're interested in talking and learning more about permaculture principles with a lovely group of people then whatever we decide this'll be the group for you!
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 25th January at 7pm-9pm at 31 Cliff Road, LS6 2ET (5 minutes walk from the Quaker House). If you interested in being part of the group but can't make this meeting then don't fret! - drop us a line and we'll keep you in the loop about the next meeting.
Could people interested in coming along reply to this email to confirm their attendance - we'd like to get a feel of numbers to help plan the meeting in advance.
If you have any more questions about the event please email Pierre, [email protected], and we'll be more than happy to ramble at you ;)
