Get Your Hands Dirty/Sowing Seeds West Yorkshire

The event takes place at Wibsey Community Garden (formerly Wibsey Park Nursery), Beacon Road, Wibsey, BD6 3.

The day includes a chance to find out about the Co-op and its farms and organisations able to help you 'tread lightly' and a choice from four one-hour workshops. A vegetarian lunch will
be provided, using local produce where possible.

Morning Workshops
· An Introduction to Bee-Keeping (British Bee-Keepers'Association)
· Green manures: Instead of leaving your vegetable beds empty till Spring, consider building up their fertility with some green manure. Different types will be investigated and you will be able to take away some seeds to try it for yourself. (BCEP)

Afternoon Workshops
· Introduction to medicinal plants, sample preparation to take home. (Ross Menzies , The Herbal Clinic)
· Seasonal Edible Containers: The end of the season doesn't mean to say you have to stop growing food! Plant up a container of different edibles to take home with you as part of this workshop. (BCEP)
