Hosted by the Haltwistle Partnership. The day starts at Haltwhistle Community Library.
Find out about the Co-op and its farms and local organisations able to help you 'tread lightly', take part in workshops and enjoy a tour of Haltwhistle Community Garden. A vegetarian lunch will be supplied, using local produce as appropriate.

Morning workshops
· Bee-Keeping (British Bee-Keepers' Association).
· Seed saving: How to harvest, process and store a range of seeds. Seeds to take home (Haltwhistle Community Garden).

Afternoon workshops
· Medicinal Plants: Find out about plants you already know or can readily identify in your gardens or in the wild and gain the confidence to make preparations for treating minor ailments and for first aid. Take away a sample. (Ross Menzies, The Herbal Clinic).
· Raggedy Recycling: Use traditional rag rug techniques and unwanted materials such as old clothes, T-shirts and old socks combined with non-traditional recycled materials such as plastics, to create unusual and unique brooches (Gill Curwen, Sustainable Carlisle).
