Introducing the new projects membership offer!

It is available to any current or new Permaculture Association Britain, Permaculture Scotland or Paramaethu Cymru member who runs a project. This offer is an extension of your existing membership offer and comes at no additional cost

By project we mean a community initiative that has been inspired by or designed using permaculture principles, designs, ethics, practices or techniques. There are an unlimited range of projects that fall into this category from global movements to back yard gardens in towns, cities, rural areas and online. Whether you run a sustainability centre or back garden seed saving club with friends, no project is too small to become a valued part of our projects network. 

 

What is included in the Projects Membership Offer?

 

  • New Permaculture Projects and LAND online Slack community, where you can connect with other projects to share advice and resources, promote events, ask for support and get up to date information about funding, training and other opportunities. 

 

  • Discount on public liability insurance for your project from Zurich Insurance. This is available to constituted groups. See terms and conditions at the bottom of this page.

 

 

  • Free access to our monthly project masterclasses, where you can get advice and support for your project from industry experts on a range of practical topics including funding, equity, diversity and inclusion and business planning. 

 

  • Monthly Project and LAND online gatherings led by some of the most inspiring projects in our network. See the full programme for 2022 on our blog. 

 

  • Exclusive video library of of our previous projects and LAND online gatherings.

What happens when I sign up?

 

After signing up you will receive an email with your insurance discount code, slack community joining link and more information about your project membership benefits. This information, along with your video library, registration links for masterclasses and online gatherings can  be found by logging into your membership area.

Once you have signed up you will receive a regular Projects and LAND newsletter inviting you to each online gathering and masterclass, other network events and keeping you up to date with what is new in the projects and LAND network.

There are huge numbers of people who run excellent permaculture inspired and informed projects within our membership. We would like to know who you are, celebrate what you do and find out how we can support you in your work. 

These projects have a huge impact on communities and introduce permaculture thinking and techniques to a wide and diverse audience. We welcome your input in co-creating the vision of support that we offer the projects and LAND network.

 

How do I sign up?

 

If you are an existing member:

  1. Log into your membership area on the Permaculture Association Website.

  2. Click on ‘manage my membership

  3. Select membership preferences.

  4. Select 'Sign me up for free Projects Membership Upgrade.'

If you are not yet a member:

Join as a member here and check the box 'Sign me up for free Projects Membership Upgrade' within the preferences section. This offer is not time limited and is available to any member of the Permaculture Association, Permaculture Scotland or Paramaethu Cymru.

Zurich is part of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd, a global group which is committed to creating a brighter, more sustainable future. They became carbon neutral in 2014 and are working to eliminate single use plastics and reduce paper usage by 80% globally. In the UK, Zurich also have a plant a tree initiative, where customers reporting claims online can help offset the carbon emissions associated with repairing their property.

Their insurance can be purchased as a tailored policy, or an online package.  When getting a quote for a tailored policy, you’ll be able to speak to one of their team of experts who will spend time getting to know your group and the activities that you do. You can decide the type of insurance cover you need for your organisation, as well as the policy limits that are right for you. 

As member of Permaculture Association Britain and having signed up for projects membership upgrade you are eligible for a 10% discount on tailored policies with Zurich. Simply call Zurich on 0800 917 9420 and quote discount code available within the Permaculture Association website members area. Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. 

Alternatively, Zurich offer an online package of insurance from £96 a year. Member discounts are not available for the online package, however the package has been specifically designed for not-for-profit groups with an income under £300,000 and includes Public Liability cover, Employers’ Liability cover, Personal Accident cover, Trustee Indemnity cover, Contents cover and cover for Money on premises and in Transit.
