About this post
We are looking for a confident, outgoing person who can engage and empower others and help us maintain and deliver our existing education work whilst the Education Lead is on Maternity Leave. This is a simplified role with some elements of the post being managed by other members of the team.
You will be working online with a distributed team who work across the UK and beyond!
We offer a very flexible approach to working, with the ability to work the hours across the week.
Job title: Education Lead (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £26,000 pro rata (£11,243 per annum)
Hours: 17 hours per week (43% fraction of 37 hour week), plus an additional 30 hours (total) in October - November 2021 to enable a handover and phased start to the role. The Permaculture Association supports flexible working and this post can be worked on that basis.
Duration: Fixed Term (maternity cover only); 6 weeks phased handover (30 hours within October - November 2021) plus 42 weeks at 17 hours per week from 1st December 2021.
Holiday entitlement: 32 days (including Public Holidays) pro rata
Sickness provision: according to statutory requirements
Job sharing: this post is not suitable for job sharing
Wellbeing: We encourage a paid 15 minute ‘meditation’ as part of the working day and have an evolving Staff Wellbeing design
Place of work: This post is suitable for home working. We may be able to provide office space at our Leeds office (Hollybush Conservation Centre, Broad Lane, Leeds, LS5 3BP).
Responsible to: CEO and Board of Trustees. Working alongside other staff members, including the Online learning, Membership and Communications teams. Also working with Permaculture Association members, in particular the Education Working Group and Educator members, and the wider UK permaculture network.

- Attending and planning continuous professional development meetings
- Maintain and increase membership numbers
- Maintain current online course offerings and support online course development
- Maintain a positive relationship with the Education Working Group
- To promote permaculture education to the public
