Bustan Qaraaqa is a permaculture farm located in the Palestinian town of Beit Sahour, close to the historic city of Bethlehem in the West Bank. It is an old stone farmhouse surrounded by 4 acres of terraced farmland, and overlooking a beautiful valley in the mountains of Palestine. It is less than 1 hours travelling time from Jerusalem and well within striking range of the Judean Desert and Dead Sea.
Volunteers and students are accomodated in dormitories in the ancient caves that are part of the farm. The site is an active permaculture research and development centre, as well as being the hub of several ongoing community projects. It is an ideal place to learn about and experience permaculture living and activism.
