Course summary

During this workshop you will make a traditional Welsh framed basket, called the Cyntell, which was an agricultural basket used for crop harvesting and carrying animal feed.

A pre-formed and dried willow hoop for the basket rim and some pre-formed ribs will be provided to get you started. You will have the chance to whittle additional ribs from split fresh willow as well as weave the basket with prepared willow.

Suitable for all levels – some knife work is involved. All tools and equipment will be provided.

Additional willow will be available for purchase.
