Willow Weaving- Laundry Basket

During this workshop you will make a oval laundry basket, following a traditional design with underfoot oval base, randed sides, rod border and roped willow handles.

An opportunity to create the ultimate bespoke laundry basket, a useful and beautiful handmade item which could last you a lifetime.

A two day basket weaving workshop in traditional ‘stake and strand’ basket making, using prepared willow and some willow grown at Denmark Farm on the wetland system to add colour and texture. A choice of natural willows will be available.

Most suitable for people with some previous basket making experience, however if you are a beginner you are very welcome to join us so long as you are not too ambitious with the overall size of your basket. You can also join our Beginner’s basket weaving workshop on Friday 10th August 2018.

All tools and materials provided. If you have your own sharp secateurs and a knife, please bring them along.
