Dates and times 13 Apr 15 Cost 350 Euros including accomodation Course summary Learn wicker weaving applied to architectural structures, in a castle building site in Italy. The course focuses on the technique of weaving natural fibres into structures and is directed by Belgian artist and artisan Yvonne Knevels. Participants will walk through the various stages of craft production, starting from the selection, collection and preparation of raw materials, to the experimentation of different techniques of weaving and their application to interior and exterior architectural structures (walls, bulkheads, fences). The program will be complemented by specialists lectures, short excursion visits to collection of raw material sites, visits and interviews with local people, artisans, communities and museum collections that still preserve the ancient knowledge of wicker weaving in the region.
