This early spring course offers practical activities to help us get ready for the growing season and will explore useful hands on permaculture techniques in ecological organic growing such as creating no dig beds, compost, natural fertilizers and exploring ecological ways to care for seeds ,tree, plants and pollinators. The course is hosted by the award winning Bosavern Community Farm in St Just, and delivered by our experienced tutor. This course is perfect for any one who would like an excuse to spend more time out of doors and pursue an interest in growing organic food. A welcoming course which is open to all people with various abilities and levels of experience We will be getting ready for spring with practical sessions in organic food growing. We will explore regenerative farming techniques to ensure we can grow food whilst improving the biodiversity of our surrounding ecology such as preparing land and beds for growing, composting and restoring soils, seed sowing or companion planting As well as getting us ready for the spring growing season, the course will allow you to receive all the benefits of regularly being out in nature and doing something positive with others in the local community. This is an out door based course, but we will have an contingency plan to work with nature under shelter, if the weather is too bad to remain outside ! Please bring a packed lunch, water bottle, appropriate clothes ( including waterproofs, hats etc) and sturdy footwear.
