Upcycling Woollen Blankets

Discover how to upcycle old woollen blankets and turn them into beautiful pincushions, badges, trivets, cushion pads and rugs.

Explore the rug making techniques of standing wool, braiding, hooking and prodding whilst making an array of items both useful and decorative. We will start the day making a standing wool pincushion from beautifully dyed wool. Then there will be demonstrations of some different techniques and you can choose which other items to make and techniques to explore. There will be lots of tips on cutting and dyeing the blankets.

All tools and materials will be provided and more will be for sale on the day for you to continue some creative upcycling at home.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including beginners.
